Here are answers to some popular questions. You might also find our Resources page helpful, which provides the website addresses for many grief and bereavement organisations.

WHAT TIME ZONE ARE THE LIVE EVENTS IN?
UK time-zone (BST in the summer, GMT the rest of the year)

HOW DO I WATCH THE DECEMBER 3RD MINI-FESTIVAL EVENTS?
A list of upcoming events is on our Events page. Events which are held as live webinars have (LIVE) included in the title of the talk. You must register for each live webinar you wish to watch – you will receive Zoom joining details via email from system@goodgrieffest.com 24 hours and 1 hour before each session, and again just as each session begins. Check your spam/junk folders.

WHAT ARE “ON-DEMAND” EVENTS?
“On-demand” talks are available to watch at your convenience on the respective event’s page (see Events) from 09:00-18:00 UK time on the day of the festival.

I CAN’T MAKE THE EVENTS WHEN THEY’RE LIVE, CAN I STILL VIEW THEM?
Yes! sign up to the Good Grief newsletters (sign up at the bottom of this page) or follow us on Social media to be notified when sessions are uploaded to our The Grief Channel YouTube channel.  (links at the bottom of this page)

WHERE CAN I GO FOR FURTHER SUPPORT?
We understand that participating in Good Grief events may be an emotional experience for you. Our amazing partner organisations offer support and you’ll find a list of those resources here. We encourage you to reach out to them – and to those around you – if you need a little support.

HOW CAN I CONTACT THE GOOD GRIEF TEAM?
Our Contact page is here. Do get in touch with us via email, via our fun community Blackboard, or through our Social Media channels (links bottom of the page).

WHAT IS THE GRIEF CHANNEL?
As of Autumn 2022, the Grief Channel is now on YouTube. This is where you can access all of our content on-demand and for free.

Featuring over 120 talks from Good Grief festivals and events, you will find familiar faces like Julia Samuel, Cariad Lloyd, David Kessler, Michael Rosen, Nikesh Shukla, Ruby Wax, Stuart Lawrence, Dr Rachel Clarke, Dr Kathryn Mannix, Amber Jeffrey, Professor Robert Neimeyer and many, many more!

We are so grateful to all of our Grief Channel subscribers over the past few years, our festivals simply wouldn’t have been possible without your contributions. Thank you for your generosity.

Existing subscriptions to our paid on-demand service The Grief Channel remain valid until Spring 2023.

I’M HAVING TROUBLE ACCESSING MY PAID GRIEF CHANNEL ON-DEMAND SUBSCRIPTION/CONTENT.
To access paid on-demand subscriptions to The Grief Channel, make sure you’re signing in here: https://grief-channel.com. If you have reset your password, check your spam/promotions/junk folder for emails from ‘Good Grief Festival.’ We recommend white labelling emails from system@goodgrieffest.com and hello@goodgrieffest.com or you may miss important information about new events and content over the coming months. You’ll find info on how to white label emails here.

Using an institutional email address (such @nhs.co.uk) to register for our events may mean you’re automatically blocked by your institution. Therefore, we recommend you use your personal email address when signing up.

CAN I CONTACT A SPEAKER DIRECTLY AFTER THE FESTIVAL?
Most of our speakers and facilitators work in the public realm. We have included links to people’s websites, organisations and social media channels as appropriate. If you wish to contact anyone you’ve discovered as part of Good Grief, please do so using their own channels. View Speakers.

I WANT TO BE PART OF GOOD GRIEF (SPEAKER, SUPPORTER ETC)
Thank you for your interest. Given the nature of the event, we have been inundated with ideas and promotion requests. We hope to collaborate with as many of you as possible in future. We would love to stay in contact and will certainly keep you in the loop for future Good Grief events. Please share more details about your work with us via our contact page here.

WHO IS BEHIND GOOD GRIEF?
Good Grief is the concept of Dr Lucy Selman, an Associate Professor at the University of Bristol’s School of Population Health Sciences. Dr Lesel Dawson from the University of Bristol is the Arts and Culture Lead for the festival. The event director and co-curator is Aisling Mustan with support from a team of Bristol-based creatives. We are a very small team so please bear that in mind when contacting us.
